Report: PCNC Weed Pull, Sunday September 21, Carrie Jane Gray Park
Thank you to our community members for joining us on our NWIPC sponsored invasive plant pull we had on the 21st. Eleven people driven to preserve biodiversity in Prince George, clipped, dug, pulled, and bagged a whopping 13 large garbage bags full of Common tansy and Himalayan balsam at Carrie-Jane Park last weekend. All of your hard work is truly appreciated!
If you didn’t make it to the event and want to help tackle invasive plants in Prince George, you can do so by reporting your observations directly to NWIPC or on the Report Invasives BC app.

PGNC Key Biodiversity Areas Presentation, Thursday October 16, 7 p.m., Studio 2880

Fraser Lake Trumpeter Swan Count, October 18 or 19 (weather dependent)
Swan Count at Fraser Lake and area – October 18 or 19, 2025. BC Nature and the Prince George Naturalists Club will be conducting a Trumpeter Swan count at Fraser Lake and area on Saturday, October 18th (or Sunday, October 19th if weather is inclement on the 18th). Seeing sufficient numbers of Trumpeter Swans could lead to identifying a new “Key Biodiversity Area (KBA)”, a valuable designation with species conservation implications. We’re welcoming volunteers to assist. The more volunteers we have, the more sites can be observed simultaneously to avoid double-counting swans in the region.
If this sounds intriguing, please contact BC Nature’s IBA/KBA Coordinator Liam Ragan, or Dave Leman with the Prince George Naturalists Club.
Interested volunteers can register using the link below. If the link doesn’t work for you, send an email to PGNC with your name, the date you prefer and your contact information.
