As well as being an avid birder in his spare time, John is a hobbyist paper-folder (origami). The images shown are John’s folds of original designs by Robert J. Lang (Tree Frog, Longhorn Beetle, Shizuoka Cicada), Noboru Miyajima (Deer), Jiahui Li (Long-tailed Tit), Satoshi Kamiya (Little Bird), and Yudai Imai (Hedgehog), each folded from a single uncut square sheet of paper.
