WalkPG Outdoor Festival, Saturday May 31: Report
What a fantastic and fulfilling weekend in Prince George. We had an amazing time kicking things off and celebrating nature at WalkPG on Saturday and then celebrating conservation at the Spruce City Salmon Send-Off on Sunday. Both events saw a wonderful turnout. Even a little rain on Saturday couldn’t dampen the spirits! A huge thank you to our incredible community for coming out and enjoying these events with us! We also want to extend our sincere gratitude to the organizers of WalkPG and the Spruce City Wildlife Association for hosting us so warmly. We are truly fortunate to live, work, and play on the Traditional and unceded territory of the Lheidli T’enneh.

PGNC Work Party at Hudson’s Bay Wetland Nature Park, Saturday June 28
HBW Work Party: We need YOUR help! June 28, 9:30 am. The PGNC is having a work party to repair the damage done to one of our observation decks at the Hudson’s Bay Wetland. Vandals burned parts of deck 4. The deck is about 100 m from the small parking lot on Queensway. PGNC with help from the Caledonia Ramblers built this deck and 3 others about 10 years ago.We need skilled and unskilled helpers. Boards and tools must be brought from the parking lot to the deck, and then there’s the cleanup at the end. You should bring gloves for yourself and any tools you have, such as screwdrivers, hammers, and saws, and your energy and enthusiasm, of course!

Celebrate Nature with Pride, Sunday July 6
Table at Pride Picnic: Come find us and celebrate the wonderful diversity of nature at this family friendly Pride Picnic in Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park July 6th, 2025 3PM – 8PM. If you would like to volunteer to help with the booth, please send us an email.

Mini-Bee School, Saturday August 2 and Sunday August 3
The PGNC is very excited to partner with BC Nature, the BC Naturalists Foundation, UNBC Sustainability, and, of course, the Native Bee Society of BC to bring you this two-day event. You can find all the details and purchase tickets here. We look forward to seeing you on August 2 and 3, 2025, and learning about the wonders of native bees together!
